“All of your ideals, your hopes and dreams…they cease to matter if you abandon them in your darkest hour. We have to see this through to the end.”
Jack McIntyre and Caroline Gerard have never shied away from a challenge. As dual commanders of the American rebel forces, they now face the greatest adversity of their lives. Every decision has permanent consequences. Relationships are tested and restored. Hard truths come to light. When the reality of their situation finally hits them, there is one thing they know for certain.
No sacrifice is too great for love.
This has been a long and often frustrating journey.
This saga has had me strung out over every emotion in the entire spectrum of feelings. I’ve gone from loving hard to having severe violent urges. I’ve had my heart stomped on and then put back together again. I’ve gone from admiring these characters to wanting to strangle them to rooting for them. And as I closed the final page in the final book, I cannot tell you whether I’m happy or sad that it’s all ended here.
In Triumph, every single emotion I felt during this entire series was packed into these pages. All of them, except frustration. My violent urges were greatly satisfied and in between all the moments of “FUCK YEAH!” there was tenderness and tears. Although the book is permeated with a sense of tension the author still took her time in exploring all aspect of it and giving those situations the brevity it deserved. Instead of a rush to the finish there were still many moments that shook me and had me needing to take a minute to digest it all.
The conclusion to The Bellator Saga is, in a word, epic.
All in all this ending was more than satisfying and more that I could have hoped for. In the words of Cecilia London herself: “Trust the process” – but definitely pick up these books.
