Book Review: TWIST by Kylie Scott

twistFrom New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott comes the second sizzling stand-alone novel in the Dive Bar series!

When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot bearded bartender Joe Collins only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her.

Alex Parks is funny, fascinating, and pretty much everything he’s been looking for in a woman—except that she lives across the country. Soon they’re emailing up a storm and telling each other their deepest, darkest secrets…except the one that really matters.

When Alex pays Joe a surprise visit, however, they both discover that when it comes to love, it’s always better with a twist.

Kylie Scott is the woman behind my ultimate book boyfriend. Mal has held the number one spot ever since I read Play. Like the crazy bunny boiler I secretly am, I started reading the Dive bar Series hoping to catch a glimpse of the man yet to realise we’re meant to be. Nobody has ever been able to knock that loveable dumbass off his thrown. Nobody, except possibly Joe Collins.

Twist Kylie Scott Book Review 1

A loveable dumbass at times, but mostly just a sexy as sin sweetheart. He has a lot going on, and sometimes he feels overlooked and taken for granted but he has a heart of gold and only the best of intentions but instead of paving a road to hell, he paved his way right to my princess bits. His sweetness and awkward attempts at ‘helping’ had me all a-flutter. And then came the sexuals.

Twist Kylie Scott Book Review 2

The man had moves and while Kylie Scott doesn’t write the most creative of sex scenes she certainly has a way of packing them full of the feels and humour that make them seem simultaneously highly erotic and realistic.

Alex wasn’t my favorite heroine ever. It’s not (just) because I’m (insanely) jealous. At times it just felt as though she took the high road when I would have started fashioning shanks out of my heels (see bunny boiler reference above). Still she had her moments and I (begrudgingly) guess I have to admit that she had enough sass and backbone that we could have actually been friends.

Twist Kylie Scott Book Review 3

All in all this is one of my favorite books by Kylie Scott filled with angst, humour and sexiness. The plot was extremely entertaining and I could not put this down.  Absolutely recommended!
